This week on the Curiosity & Consciousness podcast, Jonathan de Potter is my guest.
Jonathan is the Founder of Behold Retreats, a bespoke wellness provider that facilitates life-changing plant medicine journeys to explore your inner world, discover your truth, and live to your full potential.
Jonathan is passionate about raising awareness on the benefits of plant medicine like Ayahuasca and Psilocybin, and its potential to improve well-being and raise consciousness. This led him to launch Behold Retreats in 2020, tailoring memorable plant medicine experiences in a safe, legal, and highly supported setting.
Jonathan has spent most of his career in the corporate environment in client service, delivering strategy and transformation programs for clients across Asia-Pacific. After a number of years in New Zealand, Jonathan moved to Hong Kong to work with Accenture, and most recently lived in Bangkok as country manager for the boutique consulting firm Capco.
Jonathan felt that – despite an objectively great life, good friends and career success, something intangible was missing. As a result, Jonathan took a sabbatical year to travel through South America, where he attended his first Ayahuasca plant medicine retreat in Peru. The retreat experience was transformational, and in his expanded state of consciousness, Jonathan was shown directly the mindsets and behaviors that were keeping him from reaching his potential. Returning to the corporate world, Jonathan was surprised to find he was more patient, empathetic and productive than ever before, and began in-depth research into the world of plant medicine, and facilitating retreats.
Originally from Hawaii, USA, Jonathan is currently based in Koh Phangan, Thailand.

I’ve wanted to have a conversation about plant medicines for a while now, and finally here is one of many (hopefully!). This was a brilliant conversation with Jonathan who after having his life transformed by Ayahuasca, went on a deep-dive into researching more about the world of plant medicine and facilitating retreats.
In this episode, Jonathan shared how he grew up with ‘super alternative parents’, and as a result, he ended up rejecting it all and went down a path of atheism and the corporate world. By societal standards, he had a great life, but the question of ‘is this it?’ led him to take a sabbatical and travel to South America. The result of this trip changed his life and led him right back to spirituality and a much deeper zest for life.
In this conversation Jonathan also talks about;
🧚♀️What is Ayahuasca?
🧚♀️Negative subconscious programming we all carry
🧚♀️The western brain
🧚♀️Benefits of plant medicine
🧚♀️The beauty of spirituality
🧚♀️And much more
